Mercyhurst University Women's Soccer Reserve Team ended their season undefeated, after beating University of Pittsburgh's Club Team 5-0 at Saxon Stadium this afternoon.

In a challenging first half, the Lakers took the lead when Emma Scali fired home from 25 yards after finding herself in a pocket of space outside the box.

The rest of the half passed with few real scoring chances created for either team, but with Mercyhurst dominating possession.

In the second half, Mercyhurst Reserves showed why they went undefeated in the season as they scored 4 goals to put the game out of the reach of U-Pitt Club.

The first of these game from a corner kick with Laia Santos winning the initial ball and heading it down for Amata Valentini to knock the ball into the goal. The next goal came from Madison Hoover who received the ball, beat a player and struck the ball into the top corner from 25 yards.

The Lakers did not relent and continued to pile the pressure onto the U-Pitt Club defense, with Lexi Lindamer tapping into an empty net after a goal keeping error to make it 4-0.

The last goal of the game came in the last 5 minutes through Julia Stranges who controlled the ball at the top of the box before looping a shot over the keeper and into the back of the net.

Top performers on the day were Emma Scali, Madison Hoover, Fern Lazenby and Lizzie Ross.

A terrific 5-0 victory for the Lakers Reserves who end their season 6-0 having scored 44 goals and conceding just 2 goals throughout the season.
