Mercyhurst Women's Soccer Reserve team took their winning streak to 5 against Westminster on Monday evening at Saxon Stadium to remain unbeaten in Fall 2019.
The Titans took an early lead in the 3rd minute after a well-worked corner which was played to the top of the 18 yard box and struck into the goal.
The Lakers kept their composure, dominating possession and scoring an equalizer through Lexi Lindamer who ran through on goal and looped a shot over the goalkeeper and into the net.
As the first half wore on the Lakers were rewarded for their hard efforts as Beth O'Donnell rocketed a thunderous 35 yard strike into the top corner, a goal that no goalkeeper would have saved.
The score at the half was 2-1 to the Lakers.
The Lakers made it 3-1 in the second half with GG Abdalah and Maria Vidal combining at the edge of the box which released Vidal to finish superbly across goal and into the far bottom corner.
The Titans fought well to score their second with 15 minutes remaining, crossing a great ball into the Laker box to finish from close range.
The game ended 3-2 to the Lakers. Standout performers were GG Abdalah, Maria Vidal, Lexi Lindamer and Beth O'Donnell.
Next up for Mercyhurst Women's Soccer Reserves is Sunday November 3rd, on Saxon Stadium at 12PM vs University of Pittsburgh Club Team.
