Women's Bowling Plays in First Ever Matches at Columbia 300 Penguin Classic

YOUNGSTOWN, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's bowling team completed in the first ever match in program history on Friday at the Columbia 300 Penguin Classic.
 
Mercyhurst totaled 3,754 pins in its five Baker matches with a game average of 150.2. The Lakers went 0-5 on Saturday.
 
Mercyhurst started with a 772 in the first Baker Match and went 748, 675, 804 and 755 in Baker matches 2-5 respectively.
 
This marks the Laker's first season of play. The first ever roster includes, Andrea Fracassi, Jessica Perry, Samantha Schurr, Katryna Slavick, Samantha Strebel and Haley Youker.
 
The Lakers will continue the tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The teams will compete in five traditional matches on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. Another positional round will complete the day, and the total pinfall through Friday and Saturday's qualifying rounds will determine the seeding for bracket play on Sunday.
