ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's water polo team is set to start the 2018 season hosting the Laker Invitational at the Prep-Villa Events Center Feb. 17-18.
 
The invitational brings in six teams aside from Mercyhurst to start off the new season. Those teams include Gannon, La Salle, Siena, St. Francis Brooklyn, St. Francis (Pa.), and VMI. The Lakers will play four games, beginning with Siena at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
 
This tournament was the second weekend of action for the Lakers last season, with Mercyhurst going 1-2 in its three games.
