Women's Ice Hockey Falls 2-1 in Overtime to #8 Ohio State

Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team fell 2-1 in overtime to eighth ranked Ohio State on Saturday.
 
Alexa Vasko scored while Sam Isbell and Morgan Stacey picked up assists.
 
After a scoreless first period, OSU got on the board with a goal from Gabby Rosenthal. Liz Schepers and Sophie Jaques had assists.
 
With 3:13 left in the third period, Vasko scored her sixth goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. Isbell and Stacey tallied assists.
 
Emma Maltais scored with 39 seconds left in overtime to give OSU a 2-1 win. Charly Dahlquist and Tatum Skaggs added assists.
 
The Lakers were 0-for-3 on the power play while the Buckeyes went 0-for-1.
 
Kennedy Blair made 33 saves in net for Mercyhurst (8-8-2) while Andrea Braendli made 19 saves for Ohio State (13-6-0).
 
Both teams are back in action on Sunday at 1:07 p.m.
