SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The 21st-ranked Mercyhurst wrestling team won its second match in as many days as it claimed a 25-12 victory over PSAC opponent Shippensburg on Saturday night.

Michael Clark (149) and Gavin Wilkerson (174) recorded pins for the Lakers, who won 6 of 10 individual matches. Logan Grass, who is ranked 12th at 165, earned a major decision.

Decision victories were added by Jake Ruggeri (125), Alexis Soriano (133) and Kevin Kinyua (157).

Ruggeri and Soriano helped MU to a 6-0 lead with their decisions. Later, Clark pinned Shippensburg's Matt Milbrand in 5:58, extending the Mercyhurst advantage to 12-3 at the time.

Kinyua then had his decision and then Grass used over five minutes of riding time to take his 9-0 major over Adam Martz. Wilkerson sealed the victory with his pin of Austin Klucker in 3:48.

Shippensburg (0-1, 0-1) earned decisions at 141, 184, 197 and heavyweight. Derek Berberick had a last-second takedown to win the heavyweight match.

The Lakers (2-0, 2-0) will compete next at the PSAC Individual Championships, which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Kutztown.
