ELKINS, W. Va. / GREENBRIER, W. Va. - The Mercyhurst University men's tennis team dropped a pair of decisions on the road at Davis & Elkins and Bluefield State this weekend. The Lakers lost by a 7-2 margin against Davis & Elkins and then suffered a 5-1 loss at Bluefield State on Sunday. The Lakers dropped to 4-5 overall on the season.

Against the Senators on Saturday, the Lakers got a victory at #2 doubles from the duo of Robert Rizea and Daniel Gimenez as they defeated Thomas Judd and William Hill by an 8-5 decision.

Freshman Ross Molinaro IV earned Mercyhurst's only victory in singles action when he defeated Hill in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. Travis Beck and Mike Vinopal each won the first set of their singles' matches only to drop the final two sets at #1 and #6 respectively.

On Sunday, the Lakers got their only win at #3 singles when Gimenez defeated Bluefield State's Piotr Kruk. The two split the first two sets before Kruk retired prior to the start of set three.

The Lakers return to action on Tuesday, March 11, when they host Roberts Wesleyan at the Pennbriar Athletic Club.
