WENTZVILLE, Mo. – Sophomore
Jenna Dingeldein scores two goals en route to a 4-1 win over Lindenwood on Sunday afternoon. The Lakers finished the first half of the season with a seven game winning streak and a record of 14-5-2 overall and 7-2-1 in the CHA. Lindenwood fell to 2-16-2 overall and 2-7-1 in the season.
The Lakers scored two goals in both the opening and middle periods of the contest for their seventh consecutive victory. Senior
Kaleigh Chippy scored the first goal of the contest at the 11:54 mark of the opening 20:00 minutes. Senior
Christie Cicero added her 13th assist of the season to mark her 50th career assist as a Mercyhurst Laker. Sophomore
Lauren Kilroy also added an assist.

Kathy Donohue scored two minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0 before the conclusion of the period. At the 13:16 mark, junior
Shelby Bram and Dingeldein set up Donohue for the goal. The Lakers attempted 19 shots in the first period and put two past goaltender Nicole Hensley.
Dingeldein added both of her goals in the second period with the first goal finding the back of the net at the 6:20 mark. Bram added her second assist of the contest on the second power-play goal of the contest. Freshman
Jillian Skinner added the primary and extended her point streak to four games.
Bram and Dingeldein met again at the 12:36 mark of the second to extend the lead to 3-0. Bram's third assist marked her season-high three assists in a contest midway through the year. Mercyhurst added 18 more shots on net at the conclusion of the second period.
Lindenwood's Katie Erickson broke through the defense of goaltender
Amanda Makela to prevent the shutout. Erickson's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Chelsea Witwicke and Jordyn Constance. Lindenwood's only opportunity was on a 5 on 3 chance in favor of the Lions.
Throughout the entire contest, Mercyhurst outshot Lindenwood 42 to 18. Chippy led the Lakers with six shots on net while Dingeldein tallied four and Skinner had three. Defenseman junior
Molly Byrne along with Kilroy blocked three shots apiece in the efforts as well.
Makela made 17 saves to improve to 12-5-2 overall in the season. Nicole Hensley suffered the loss after making 38 saves on 42 shots.
The sweep concluded the Lakers first half of the regular season. The Lakers return to action after the New Year to face Cornell University on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11 at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. Friday's contest is set for 7:00 p.m. while Saturday is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
