MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University men's tennis team began regular match play against Robert Morris Sunday, getting shut out 7-0 against the Colonials.
Travis Beck and
Eric Drusko were the closest the Lakers had towards getting a win in singles play. Beck fell in two sets, which included a marathon first set, while Drusko fell in extra sets. Beck helped Mercyhurst to its lone win alongside teammate Robert Rizen in an 8-6 decision in the No. 1 doubles set, but Robert Morris took the other two sets to sweep the match.
The Lakers will be back in action on Sept. 11, as they travel to Allegheny College to take on the Gators.
