ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University men's tennis team began its home schedule on a less-than-stellar note, falling to the Bloomsburg Huskies 7-2.  The loss dropped the Lakers' record to 1-8.

Keith Whittingham and Jorn van der Veer would pick up Mercyhurst's lone wins during their respective singles matches, with Whittingham prevailing in a tough No. 1 duel with Ricky Dove (6-3, 6-2) and van der Veer taking the No. 2 match over Jeff Nuhfer (6-3, 6-1).

The Lakers will look for its first home win on Monday, April 1, as they host the Roberts Wesleyan Raiders in a 12 Noon match.
