ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's water polo team plays four matches this weekend. The Lakers travel to Grove City College for contests with Grove City and Bucknell on Saturday, March 24. They then take on Utica and Chatham at Penn State Behrend the following day.
Hurst enters the weekend with a 5-10 mark after going 2-3 at the Wolverine Invitational March 17-18.
Lisett Calderon leads the team with 38 goals, while
Allie Grimes has 15 goals and a team-high nine assists. Goalie
Hope Rozelle has recorded 165 saves and allowed 7.9 goals per game. The Lakers are ranked 10
th in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I/II poll.
Grove City has an 8-6 overall record, including a 17-5 win at Behrend in its last outing on March 22. The Wolverines are ranked first in the latest CWPA Division III poll.
Bucknell is 10-18 in 2012. It is tabbed eighth in the CWPA Division I/II poll. The Bison enter the weekend on a 10-match losing streak, including losses to seven ranked foes in that stretch. Senior Hallie Kennan has totaled 37 goals and 38 assists on the year.
Utica has played just two games this season, losing both. The Pioneers fell to Villanova and Siena on March 3. Chatham is 0-5 this year, having dropped all five of its contests last weekend.
