Strong Second Half Pushes Lakers Past Harvard, 11-3

Senior Andy Sekulski made 16 saves in the win over Harvard.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Mercyhurst College men's water polo team outscored Harvard 5-0 in the second half to claim an 11-3 victory over the Crimson Saturday evening at the ECAC Championship.
Leading 6-3 at the break, Mercyhurst flexed its muscles on both sides of the ball, letting the offense score five goals while the defense pitched a shutout over the final two quarters.
Freshmen Brett Luehman led all scorers with four goals. Classmate Danilo Svorcan netted a hat trick, while senior Kane Ashton tallied twice, giving him a total of four goals at the tournament. Junior Josh Rodriguez and freshman Colin McDonald rounded out the offense with a goal apiece.
Senior Andy Sekulski improved his record to 3-3 with 16 saves.
The Lakers, standing at 3-3 on the season and 1-1 at the tournament, will play Iona for ninth place on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 10:20 a.m.
