The Mercyhurst men's water polo team is preparing to continue Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference play as they gear up for matches against George Washington at 10:00 a.m. and Bucknell at 2:00 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Hagerty Family Events Center. 
 
Previously from the Lakers:
Last weekend, the Lakers had MAWPC matches against Navy and George Washington and met Gannon at the Erie Invitational. The Lakers fell in all three contests. 
 
The Watchlist:
Asher Jones has been hot lately, scoring 13 goals in the last three games. He tallied seven goals against George Washington and another four against Gannon.
 
Caden Stover has scored six goals in the past three games, including a hat trick against Navy.
 
A Closer Look: George Washington

• GW has started their season 7-8 and undefeated in MAWPC play.
• This is the Revolutionaries second matchup against Mercyhurst of the season, winning 18-10 in the first one 
• GW played the top two ranked teams in the nation in UCLA and USC earlier this year. They fell to UCLA 21-6 and USC 17-8. 

 
A Closer Look: Bucknell

• Bucknell has started their season 4-9 and 1-3 in MAWPC play, with their lone conference win coming over Wagner.
• The Bison have also played a pair of ranked opponents this season in UCLA and Harvard
• Bucknell swept the regular season series with the Lakers in 2024.
