WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Mercyhurst College men's water polo team evened its record at 2-2 with a 17-10 victory over Washington & Jefferson Friday evening in Washington, Pa.
Sophomore
Ian Tasman and senior
Kane Ashton recorded five points apiece, with Tasman scoring a goal and tallying four assists and Ashton netting two goals and dishing out three helpers. Freshman

Josh Rodriguez each had a hat trick, and freshman
Danilo Svorcan reeled off a pair of scores.
Mercyhurst took control of the game in the first quarter, outscoring the Presidents 5-1. A 4-2 advantage then ballooned the lead to 9-3 before both teams traded goals in the third to take a 12-6 score into the fourth. The Lakers finished the game off with a 5-4 edge in the finale.
Senior
Andy Sekulski recorded the win with eight saves and eight steals, moving his record to 2-2 on the season.
With Saturday's Salem International game postponed, the Lakers return to action on Friday, Sept. 17 when they face Fordham in the first game of the 2010 ECAC Championship. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
