QUEENS, N.Y. - The Mercyhurst College men's water polo team was denied its fourth straight Division II Eastern Championship crown as the Lakers fell to Queens (N.Y.), 16-11, in the title game Saturday evening in Queens, N.Y. The second-seeded Lakers advanced to the final after defeating cross-town rival and No. 3 Gannon, 14-6, for the third time this season.
Freshman
Brett Luehmann led the Lakers with a combined seven-goal, four-assist effort on the day. Freshman
Danilo Svorcan scored twice in each game and accumulated five assists, while senior
Alex Moggridge reeled off four goals and two helpers. Sophomore
Ian Tasman finished Saturday's action with two goals and seven assists

Andy Sekulski recorded both decisions in goal with 13 saves against Gannon and seven against Queens.
