BRONX, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst College men's water polo team wrapped up its four-game weekend with a pair of losses Sunday afternoon, falling to Fordham, 9-7, and Iona, 13-12, in Bronx, N.Y.
In the game against Fordham, Mercyhurst saw an early 5-4 lead disappear as the Rams rallied back in the second to tie it at six leading into halftime. After a scoreless third, Fordham capped the comeback by outscoring the Lakers, 3-1, to break the deadlock and seal its second win over its Erie foe this season.

Andy Sekulski suffered the loss despite making 13 saves.
Against Iona, Mercyhurst saw another tie break the way of its opponent as the Gaels snapped a 12-12 draw in the final minutes. Leading up to that, the Lakers held a 12-11 lead after coming back from deficits of 6-2, 9-6 and 10-7.
Mercyhurst saw a majority of its offense come from Rodriguez, who scored a team-high four goals. Ashton added a hat trick, while Luehmann netted two goals and Tasman, Svorcan and freshman
Colin McDonald each had one.
No goalkeeper statistics were available at the time of release.
Mercyhurst, standing at 15-9, closes out the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Notre Dame College.
