ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Mercyhurst College men's water polo team dropped to 1-1 on the season with an 8-6 setback at the hands of George Washington on Saturday evening at the 2009 Navy Open in Annapolis, Md.

Junior Alex Moggridge scored four goals to lead the offense while classmate Andy Sekulski recorded 14 saves and added three assists to highlight the defense. Freshmen William Page and Adam Borgman tallied a goal and an assist apiece.

Despite holding a 6-4 lead at halftime, Mercyhurst lost its scoring touch in the second. George Washington held the Lakers to just two scores in the third before outscoring them 2-0 in the finale to record their second win of the day.
