Erie, Pa – The Mercyhurst men's golf team took second place at the Battle of Lake Erie, which finished Sunday, April 19, held at Downing Golf Course.
Gannon claimed the team championship with a two-round score of 605. Mercyhurst's green team finished in second place with 626 strokes and the Lakers' blue team took third with a total of 629 shots. Penn State-Behrend's first team finished in fourth place with a score of 650, and PSU-Behrend's second team concluded the tournament in fifth place with 699 strokes.
Mercyhurst's
Tyler Bidwell won medalist honors, following his first-round 68 with a 76 Sunday for a total of 144 strokes, three better than the second-place finisher.
Derek Fisher finished in fourth place, shooting a 73 Sunday for a tournament score of 150.
Garrett Kimple fired a 79 in the second round and finished tied for sixth place out of the 26-golfer field with 154 strokes.
Derek Elliot registered an 82 Sunday, totaling 157 shots for the tournament and tying for eighth place.
Patrick Jackson totaled 163 strokes for the tournament, including 78 Sunday, and placed 13th.
Colin Farabaugh finished in 15th position with 165 strokes in two days. Teammates

Michael Sito tied for 16th with 166 shots each.
Mike Wayner concluded the tournament in a tie for 20th place with 168 strokes.
The Lakers will next compete in the Penn State-Behrend Invitational, held Thursday, April 23 at Peak 'N Peek.
