Indiana, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's golf team finished round one Monday, April 13 at the IUP Cecil Spadafora Invitational in 15th place, recording a score of 330 strokes. Senior Ben Deets leads the Lakers after 18 holes of golf at the Indiana Country Club. 

#Ben Deets shot 38 for the front nine before recording 42 strokes on the back nine for an 18-hole total of 80. Deets is tied for 56th place out of 83 competitors. Derek Fisher posted an 81 Monday and is tied for 60th place. Tyler Bidwell finished one stroke behind Fisher and is in a tie for 69th place. Colin Farabaugh shot an 87 and Patrick Jackson# registered 91 strokes to round out the Lakers' lineup. 

Concord University leads the tournament with a score of 289. Millersville is in second place with 295 strokes. Clarion, behind a three-under-par 68 from Jared Schmader, is in third place. Allegheny and Cal (Pa.) round out the top five.
