Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at NEC Men's Golf Championship

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — The Mercyhurst men's golf team placed seventh at the 2026 NEC Men's Golf Championships with a final score of 305 (+21), highlighted by graduate Evan Rowane's T-9th finish with a 5-over-par  218 at Turf Valley Resort.
 
Mercyhurst concluded the NEC Men's Golf Championships in seventh place with a final score of 897, finishing 45 strokes over par. Evan Rowane led the team, tying for ninth place individually with a score of 218, 5-over par. Darien Swanson followed closely, tying for 20th with a score of 222, 9-over par. Peter Malo Jr. finished with a 54 hole total of 231 while  Enzo Clerici and Matthew Spadacini posted scores of 233, finishing tied for 44th.
 
The event at Turf Valley Resort challenged the Green and Blue players, with Rowane's consistent play standing out amidst a competitive field.
 
Rowane tied for ninth place with a final round score of 74 (+3). The graduate student demonstrated consistent performance, posting scores of 74-70-74 to finish inside the top 10, earning a All-Tournament Team spot.
 
Darien Swanson, a senior, concluded the tournament tied for 20th place after carding a 75 (+4). Swanson's performance helped anchor the team's overall standing, contributing significantly to its seventh-place finish. He posted scores of 74-73-75 over 54 hole tournament.
 
Peter Malo Jr., a junior, finished in 42nd with a final round of 78 (+7). Malo Jr. carded rounds of 77-76-78 during the championship tournament.
 
Enzo Clerici, a freshman, tied for 44th with a score of 78 (+7). Clerici's debut championship highlighted his potential, as he matched Matthew Spadacini's finish.
 
Spadacini, a senior, ended the tournament tied for 44th, recording an 85 (+14). Despite the challenging round, Spadacini's participation capped off his senior season with determination. He posted rounds of 77 and 71 on  the first two days.
