Erie, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's tennis team beat Ohio Dominican, 5-4 Sunday after another huge comeback.
The Lakers fought out of a 4-0 hole, winning the final five matches to take the victory. This was the Lakers second such comeback of the season.
The match started with Mercyhurst losing two doubles' matches as well as the No. 1 and No. 6 singles' matches. However, after this, the Lakers hit their stride, winning the No. 1 doubles' match and the Nos. 2-5 singles' matches.
Adam Marnik and
Ron Heurich both won in marathon singles' matches. Marnik won his match 3-6, 6-2, 10-5, while Heurich scored a 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 win.
Heurich was the only undefeated Laker on the day. Along with his singles' victory, he partnered with
Mijo Cotic to take the No. 1 doubles' match 8-6.
The Lakers return to action Wednesday, Oct. 7, when they travel to Niagara for a 3:00 pm match.
