The Lakers took the only two shots of the first overtime session, and the score remained tied a 2-2 after 10 minutes of extra time. In the 102nd minute, UF's Rory Lassalle found Corey Keister, whose shot found the back of the net at 101:10, giving the Oilers a 3-2 victory.

Mercyhurst opened the scoring in the ninth minute Sunday, as Nicholas Thompson converted a feed from Paul Neill into his ninth goal of the season and a 1-0 Mercyhurst advantage. The Lakers held an 8-4 edge in shots, including 4-1 in shots on target during the first half.

Findlay's B.J. Goodwin notched an unassisted goal at the 28:54 mark to tie the match at one goal apiece, a score which held through halftime.

The second half was as tightly contested as the first, with each team attempting six shots and three corner kicks. Brennan Williams gave Findlay its first lead of the game at 62:37.

The Lakers continued to pressure the Oilers, and in the 77th minute Mercyhurst received a goal from Christoph Hampel. The score remained at 2-2 through the remainder of regulation, forcing overtime to be played, during which Findlay won the match.

Diego Gustin stopped three shots for the visitors, while Matthew Brooks made five saves in the victory.

With his assist Saturday, Thompson tied Arash Fahandezh for the team lead with five. The 2006 season marked the most recent year in which two Lakers had posted five assists.

Hampel is the fifth Laker to score four or more goals this season. The last time five Mercyhurst players registered four or more goals during the same season was in 2003, when the Lakers went 15-3-1. He is also the fourth Mercyhurst player to reach double-figures in points in 2009.

Neill has scored five points, on two goals and an assist, in the last three contests.

The Lakers continue their four-game road swing at Tiffin Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. Mercyhurst holds a 3-1 all-time record against the Dragons, but Tiffin won the last meeting, 6-5, in 2007.
