Ganser, Silva, Mrvcic Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) released their Academic All-District Team following the conclusion of the NCAA men's soccer regular season. The candidates must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, as well as maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA. These athletes are recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the field. Three Lakers made the list from the Mercyhurst men's soccer team: Mario Ganser, Alvar Silva, and Ryan Mrvcic

Ganser is a senior majoring in AI and Data Science as well as Business Economics. The Austrian native holds a 3.9 GPA. On the field, Ganser started in 16 of the Laker's 17 games holding down the back line. He scored two goals on the year and one of them was a game winner in a 3-0 win at home vs. Howard. 

Silva is a junior majoring in Sport and Event Management. The Barcelona native maintains a 3.67 GPA. Silva played in 16 out of 17 games in the midfield. He scored two goals, recorded a team-high six assists, and was second on the team in shots with 27. One of Silva's goals occurred in the beginning of the campaign, where he scored the first goal in the early stages of the match at Pitt. 

Mrvcic is a junior double majoring in Accounting and Finance. The Australian native holds a perfect 4.0 GPA. He scored one goal in a 3-0 win at home against Howard and played in 13 of the 17 games as a defender.
