Men's Golf Places 20th in NCAA Fall Regional

South Haven, Mich. – The Mercyhurst College men's golf team placed 20th out of 21 teams in the NCAA Great Lakes Fall Regional meet Sunday and Monday, hosted by Grand Valley State.
 
The Lakers followed up a 305 first-round score by totaling 324 strokes in the second round for a score of 629.
 
Derek Fisher tied for 35th place golfers with a score of 148. Tyler Bidwell shot 76 both Sunday and Monday to finish in a tie for 64th place with 152 strokes.
 
Matt Mahoney shot 161 for two rounds to tie for 93rd, while Colin Farabaugh rounded out the Lakers' team scoring with 168 to place 104th. Patrick Jackson also competed for Mercyhurst, shooting 176 for 105th place.
 
Indianapolis took the team title with a score of 550, beating second-place Ferris State by 24 strokes. Indianapolis golfer Aaron Monson took medalist honors, shooting an 11-under par 133 for the two-round tournament.
 
Mercyhurst will hit the links again Sunday and Monday in Alliance, Ohio at the Mount Union Invitational.
