Men's Golf Completes Day One at NCAA Regional

Derek Fisher shot a 2-under par 70 in Sunday's round one.
South Haven, Mich. – The Mercyhurst men's golf team is tied for 18th place after day one of the NCAA Great Lakes Fall Regional, hosted by Grand Valley State.
 
The Lakers had a first-round score of 305, tied for 18th with Southern Indiana.
 
Derek Fisher shot a two under par 70 to tie for 15th place individually after one round. Tyler Bidwell and Matt Mahoney each scored a 76, tying for 60th place. Patrick Jackson and Colin Farabaugh each shot 83 to tie for 101st place.
 
The University of Indianapolis leads the team standings with a score of 279, followed by Drury University and Ferris State, both tied at 284. Host Grand Valley State is tied with Findlay and Saginaw Valley State for fourth place.
 
Aaron Monson of Indianapolis and Michael Schmitmeyer are tied for first individually, each shooting 67, five under par.
 
The second round begins Monday morning, as Mercyhurst looks to climb up the standings.
