Hershey, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's golf team placed seventh in the 2008 PSAC Men's Golf Championship held Saturday and Sunday at the Hershey Links Golf Club.
Indiana (Pa.) won the team championship with 580 strokes, as the top two places individually went to IUP golfers. Leo Acklin won medalist honors with a three-under par 141, while Cory Stelick shot 144 over the two-day tournament in taking second place.
The Mercyhurst men scored a total of 655 strokes in finishing in seventh place.
Tyler Bidwell led the Lakers with a two-round score of 160 to tie for 19
th place out of 35 golfers overall.
Matt Mahoney and
Patrick Jackson both shot 166 in tying for 26
th place.
Ben Deets and
Garrett Kimple tied for 31
st with 169 strokes. Kimple shot an 89 Saturday before improving to 80 Sunday.
Clarion placed second in the meet, followed by California (Pa.), Millersville, Gannon, West Chester and Mercyhurst.
