Men's Golf Tied For Sixth After Round One At PSAC Championships

Hershey, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College men's golf team is tied for sixth after day one at the 2008 PSAC Men's Golf Championship.
 
Mercyhurst is tied with West Chester with 326 strokes, four strokes behind Gannon, who is in fifth place. California is in third with 314 and Millersville has 320 strokes for fourth place.
 
The Lakers were led by senior Tyler Bidwell, who shot a 79 and is tied for 13th out of 35 golfers after one round. Matt Mahoney totaled 80 strokes in tying for 19th place and teammate Patrick Jackson was one shot behind Mahoney with an 81 to tie for 21st. Garrett Kimple rounded out Mercyhurst's team scoring for the first round, firing an 86 to tie for 31st place. Ben Deets is tied for 33rd place after shooting an 89 Saturday.
 
Indiana (Pa.) leads Clarion by nine strokes for first place, 287-294,  through one round, with IUP golfers Cory Stelick and Leo Acklin tied at a three-under par 69.
 
The second and final round tees off Sunday in Hershey, Pa.
