Lakers Roll Past Penn State Behrend

Ronald Heurich won matches at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles.
Erie, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's tennis team improved to 4-1 on the fall season by defeating Penn State Behrend 7-2 Wednesday. The Lakers won 2-of-3 doubles matches and 5-of-6 singles contests.
 
Mike Aronson and Kyle King blanked Behrend at No. 3 doubles, rolling to an 8-0 win. Tim Hansson and Ronald Heurich picked up an 8-4 victory as well at No. 2 doubles.
 
In singles play, the Lakers dominated spots two through five, dropping no more than two games in any set. Heurich (6-0, 6-1), Aronson (6-0, 6-0), Adam Marnik (6-2, 6-2) and King (6-1, 6-0) cruised to victories. Mijo Cotic also picked up a hard-fought 7-6 (7-0), 6-3 win in his first match at the top of the lineup.
 
Penn State Behrend falls to 1-3 with the loss. Mercyhurst will close out the fall campaign by hosting John Carroll Saturday at 11 a.m.
