2011: Started in all 11 contests at Safety for the Lakers completing his career with 46 consecutive starts… earned both team captain and outstanding defensive back award at the 2011 football banquet… helped the Laker defense finish 3rd in the PSAC in pass defense allowing only 174 yards a game through the air… placed fifth on the team in tackles (60) finishing his career ranked 16th on the all-time list with 252 career tackles… ran back one interception for 13 yards against IUP… ended his career with 7 total interceptions and 15 pass breakups… the senior captain was also named to the Capital One First Team Academic All-District.
2010: Started all 13 games for the Lakers, helping the defensive unit to rank nationally through the end of the regular season in total defense (17th, 271.73 y/gm); scoring defense (23rd, 18.36 ppg); rushing defense (17th, 95.64 y/gm); pass defense (36th, 176.09 y/gm); sacks (13th, 3.09) and tackles for loss (T19th, 7.91)…has not missed a start in three years at his position…finished fourth on the team in tackles (70) while tying for second in interceptions (3 – 47 yards)…ran one interception back 46 yards in the Lakers’ NCAA quarterfinal loss to Shepherd on December 4 for his first career touchdown…paced the team with 12 pass breakups…had at least two tackles in every game, including a season-best nine stops in a come-from-behind 22-21 overtime victory at Edinboro on October 16…had three or more solo tackles in seven different games...enters his senior season eight tackles shy of 200 for his career (28th on the all-time list).
2009: Started all 11 contests for the second-straight year…also for the second year in a row he finished third on the team with 60 total tackles, including 36 solo…led the team with a personal-best three interceptions…biggest takeaway of the year came in a 20-16 upset of No. 21 IUP…registered a career-best 11 stops at Wayne State in the season opener to mark his only double-digit tackle effort of the year… recorded at least two tackles in every contest…finished strong with at least five tackles in each of the Lakers last five contests…posted nothing but solo tackles against Bloomsburg (5), IUP (4), and West Chester (5)…had five solo tackles on three different occasions.
2008: Local product who started all 11 games in the secondary as a rookie for the Lakers…finished third on the team in tackles with 62, including 20 solo…recorded multiple tackles in every contest, highlighted by a personal-best 10 stops against Shippensburg on November 8… began season with three solo tackles at Wayne State before putting up four or more tackles in eight contests.
High School: Named First Team All-Region defense as a senior, playing locally at McDowell High School...Second Team All-WPIAL as a junior...Also played basketball, where he was a Second Team All-Region selection in both junior and senior seasons.
Personal: Born June 17, 1989...Son of Joseph and Heather Kimball...father was the head football coach at Mercyhurst from 1993 through 2001 and is the current Director of Athletics at the college...Two brothers, Connor and Colin...Connor was a standout defensive back at cross-town rival Gannon, while Colin enters his freshman season for the Lakers.
