2023-2024: Appeared in 28 games in year two as a Laker. Coughlin was a part of the fourth line that had an explosive start to the second half of the season, recording points in four straight games at the end of January. Had his career high two goals on November 17th, in game two of the weekend against Air Force. Ryan took home the team's Most Improved Player award at the end of the year.

2022-23: Appeared in 17 games for the Lakers in his freshman season, had one assist and had eight shots on target. Coughlin had a total of three blocks this season.

Prior to Mercyhurst: Played three seasons in the NAHL with four teams...ended his junior career with the New Jersey Jr. Titans where he skated in 37 games and recorded 30 points, scored 12 times
