Mercyhurst University Athletics

Geoff Goyne is in his second year as the assistant sports information director. He is primarily responsible for the sports of football, men[apos]s basketball, wrestling, cross country, baseball, rowing and women[apos]s water polo, but assists in the coverage of all 25 varsity sports. Prior to Mercyhurst, Goyne spent two years as a graduate assistant in the Sports Information Office at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. While there, he assisted in coverage duties with all 21 of the university[apos]s varsity sports. In 2001-02, Goyne served as an intern in the Sports Information Office at Division-I Lehigh University. He was responsible for nine Mountain Hawk teams, including nationally ranked men[apos]s soccer and wrestling programs. He spent the summer of 2001 as a field operations intern with the Lynchburg Hillcats (Single A, Pittsburgh Pirates) of the Carolina League. Goyne earned a bachelor[apos]s degree in sport management with concentrations in public relations and speech communication from York College of Pennsylvania in 2001.
