Mercyhurst University Athletics

Bryan Bentz has been an athletic trainer for the Mercyhurst Athletic Department since 2001. He aids the athletic training staff in the administration and healthcare needs of 25 varsity sports and nearly 700 student-athletes, working primarily with women[apos]s volleyball, wrestling, and the women[apos]s lacrosse teams. He graduated from Slippery Rock University in 1997 with a degree in Allied Health-Athletic Training and received a master[apos]s degree from the University of Massachusetts in Exercise Physiology where he worked with the women[apos]s gymnastics and women[apos]s soccer teams for two years. Prior to Mercyhurst College , Bentz served as the head athletic trainer for the now defunct Richmond Renegades of the East Coast Hockey League in 2000-2001. In 1999-2000 he spent time working at the University of Rhode Island with their Track and Field program. During his career as an athletic trainer he has also spent time as a volunteer at the United States Olympic Training Center and has worked or interned in varying capacities with five professional sports teams.
