Matt Grimaldi is in his first year as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Administration. He had served as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Compliance Officer at Mercyhurst for the previous for years. Grimaldi came to Mercyhurst from Drexel University (Philadelphia) where, since June 1998, he served as Assistant Athletic Director Compliance/Event Operations. He directed the entire compliance program as dictated by Drexel, its conference, and the NCAA. He monitored grant-in-aid, certified eligibility, supervised and monitored academic support. Grimaldi was also responsible for rules-education, rules monitoring and documentation, recruiting information, and team contracts. He also oversaw the event management of 18 varsity sports and athletic department special events. He also served as Drexel[apos]s Director of Marketing from 1997 to 1998. He directed all major sales initiatives for the athletic department, supervised corporate sponsorship, and coordinated all athletics marketing, promotions, and special events management. Prior to his duties at Drexel, Grimaldi served as Director of Admissions at the United States Sports Academy (Daphne, AL), Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA), and Assistant Football Coach at East Stroudsburg.
