ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst volleyball team earned American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academics honors for the 14^th consecutive season.
 
To qualify for this award, teams must maintain a grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
 
The Lakers accomplished a 3.44 team GPA for the 2025-26 school year while appearing in their first ever Division I playoff game last season.

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is dedicated to advancing the sport of volleyball by placing coaches at the center of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. With a membership of more than 10,000 coaches across the collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth levels—primarily throughout the United States—the AVCA serves a diverse coaching community. The organization supports coaches in women's, men's, and beach volleyball while working to expand the sport's visibility, recognition, and overall growth.
