NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Mercyhurst men's track and field team closed out their season at day two of the NEC Outdoor Championships. The Lakers had five top-10 finishes on the day, gaining a total of 22.50 points.

In the 100 meters, freshman
Connor Stokes placed fourth overall with a time of 10.59. His top-five finish earned five points for the Lakers.

In the high jump, freshman
Jase Babcock placed fifth overall, clearing 1.89 meters. Babcock's fifth place finish earned Mercyhurst 3.5 points on the day.

Devin Easter and Stokes competed in the 4x100 relay. The group placed sixth overall with a time of 43.06, earning three points for the Lakers.

In the 5,000 meters, freshman
Thomas Gaydos placed eighth overall with a time of 15:14.62.

In the 3,000 meters steeplechase, freshman
Camden Pierce placed eighth overall with a time of 9:53.23.Â

In the discus event, freshman
Gannon McMaster placed 17
th overall with a throw of 37.38 meters. He also competed in the shot put event, placing 23
rd overall with a shot of 12.67 meters.

Camden Pierce competed in the 4x400 relay. The group placed seventh overall with a time of 3:25.23, obtaining two points for the Lakers.
