First Place Finishes from Babcock, Berrios & Gaydos Highlight Penn State Behrend Invite for Men's Track and Field

ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's track & field team continued their season at the Penn State Behrend Invitational Saturday. The Lakers had stellar performances, including a plethora of top-10 finishes on the track.
 
Freshman Jase Babcock and sophomore Fabian Berrios competed in the high jump. Babcock placed first overall with a mark of 2.04 meters. Berrios placed fourth overall with a mark of 1.68 meters.
 
Berrios and freshman Antonio Fleck competed in the triple jump. Berrios placed first overall with a mark of 11.84 meters. Fleck placed second with a mark of 11.69 meters.
 
Freshmen Thomas Gaydos and Camden Pierce, sophomore Max Dillaman and junior Daniel Derby competed in the 5000 meters. Gaydos placed first overall with a time of 15:43.00. Pierce placed fourth overall with a time of 16:24.00. Dillaman placed 10th overall with a time of 19:56.00. Derby placed 11th overall with a time of 19:57.00.
 
Freshman Zachary Noble placed second overall in the pole vault, with a mark of 4.30 meters.
 
Freshmen Gannon McMaster and Dominic Croce competed in the shot put. McMaster placed fourth overall with a throw of 13.29 meters. Croce placed 10th overall with a throw of 9.81 meters.
 
McMaster and Croce also competed in the discus event. McMaster placed fifth overall with a throw of 37.52 meters. Croce placed 10th overall with a throw of 25.97 meters.
 
Berrios and Fleck competed in the long jump. Berrios placed sixth overall with a jump of 5.74 meters. Fleck placed eighth overall with a jump of 5.25 meters.
 
Freshman Alexander Rowe competed in the javelin event. He placed eighth overall with a throw of 32.18 meters.
 
Freshmen Eric Grimm and Daniel Turner, along with junior Tyler Corbin competed for the Lakers in the 200 meter. Grimm placed 11th overall with a time of 22.79. Turner placed 18th overall with a time of 23.17. Corbin placed 21st overall with a time of 23.80.
 
Grimm, Turner, Corbin and freshman Camden Pierce competed in the 400 meter. Grimm placed third overall with a time 51.27. Pierce placed seventh overall with a time of 53.44. Turner placed ninth overall with a time of 54.17. Corbin placed 10th overall with a time of 55.12.
 
Junior Daniel Derby along with Rowe, Corbin and Gaydos competed in the 800 meters. Derby paced fourth overall with a time of 2:01.29. Gaydos placed fifth with a time of 2:01.96. Rowe placed 21st overall with a time of 2:11.81. Corbin placed 22nd overall with a time of 2:14.55.
 
Gaydos, Pierce and Dillaman competed in the 1500 meters. Gaydos placed second overall with a time of 4:03.43. Pierce placed fifth overall with a time of 4:09.25. Dillaman placed 16th overall with a time of 4:35.73.
 
Freshmen Grimm, Babcock, Devin Easter and Connor Stokes competed in the 4x100 meter relay. They placed second overall with a time of 42.86.
 
The Lakers continue their outdoor season on May 2nd when they compete at the NEC Outdoor Championships in New Britain, Connecticut.
