NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Mercyhurst women's track & field team continued their outdoor season, competing at day one of the NEC Outdoor Championships. 
 
In the 400 meters prelims, freshman Emma Palmieri recorded a time 1:01.41. She also competed in the women's 200 meters, finishing with a time 27.66.

In the shotput, freshman Nickayla Petro recorded a throw of 9.93 meters to place13^th overall. 
 
The Lakers will wrap up their 2026 outdoor season tomorrow. Coverage is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. with the first event of the day being women's javelin.
