ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Mercyhurst men and women's track & field continued their outdoor season at day one of the Asheville Bulldog Invitational. Highlighted by five top-10 finishes on the day, the Lakers look to bring the momentum from last week's invite at Slippery Rock
In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, junior
Reagan Pettis and senior
Bella Homorody competed and both got top-10 finishes for the Lakers. Pettis placed fifth overall with a time of 12:50.00. Homorody placed eighth overall with a time of 13:56.56.
In the 100 meter hurdles, freshman
Kennedy Butcher placed 12
th overall with a time of 18.72.
Freshman
Jordyn Barzano competed in the javelin, placing 13
th overall (23.71M).
Junior
Kaila Szczygielski and sophomore
Caitlin Dugan competed in the 1,500 meters. Szczygielski placed 13
th overall with a time of 5:20.78 and Dugan placed 14
th overall with a time of 5:23.33.
In the 200 meters, freshman
Emma Palmieri placed 17
th overall with a time of 26.52. Freshman
Emma Valerio also competed, placing 23
rd overall with a time of 28.02.
In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, freshman
Camden Pierce had the best finish on the day for the Lakers. He placed second overall with a personal best time of 9:56.16.

Jase Babcock and sophomore
Fabian Berrios competed in the high jump for the Lakers. Babcock placed third overall, clearing 1.96 meters. Berrios placed sixth overall, clearing 1.68 meters.
In the javelin, junior
Alexander Rowe placed 15
th overall (29.44M). Freshman
Gannon McMaster also competed, placing 16
th overall (29.35M).
Berrios, along with freshmen
Antonio Fleck and
Rowen Oakley competed in the long jump for Mercyurst. Berrios placed 16
th overall with a personal best jump of 5.62 meters. Fleck placed 17
th overall with a jump of 5.40 meters. Oakley placed 18
th overall with a jump of 5.37 meters.
In the 200 meters, freshman
Devin Easter placed 23
rd overall with a time of 22.64.
Freshman
Daniel Derby and sophomore
Max Dillaman competed in the 1,500 meters. Derby placed 29
th overall with a time of 4:32.75. Dillaman placed 31
st overall with a personal best time of 4:37.30.
The Lakers return to the track tomorrow, April 11 when they continue to compete at the Asheville Bulldog Invitational. The first event the Lakers compete in is the women's discus at 9 a.m.
