The Mercyhurst baseball team is set to play against Central Michigan on Tuesday, and a three-game series against conference opponent Delaware State. This will mark the first set of home games this season for the Lakers.
 
Previous Results
The Lakers traveled to Baltimore to face the Coppin State Eagles. They lost the first two games, but won the final game on Sunday, with a score of 12-7. Senior Zachary Kourous went off, going 4-6 with two triples, a double and a home run.
 
Matchup History
This will be the first matchup in program history against the Chippewas. Against the Hornets, the Lakers are 2-1 against them, winning their last matchup 12-10 on March 15, 2025. Senior Jayden Walker had an insane series against the Hornets, hitting .625 with a homerun and three RBI's. He looks to add to that stat line this upcoming weekend.
 
Batting Leaders
Junior Luke Babcock leads all eligible batters with a .357 batting average. He hit .300 over the weekend against the Eagles, including a three RBI's , a home run and a double. Freshman Mike Samarin hit .300 over this past weekend against the Eagles, including a triple.
 
Pitching Leaders
Graduate Student Zac Evenson leads pitchers with a 3.18 ERA. He pitched a gem on Sunday against Coppin State. Evenson threw six innings, giving up zero runs, four hits, one walk and struck out eight. The Lakers look to rely on him this weekend to continue that momentum.
