PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Mercyhurst track & field team continued their outdoor season with competition at day two of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. Two top-five finishes highlight the day for the Lakers.
Men's
In the 3,000 meters, freshman
Thomas Gaydos ran for Mercyhurst, and placed second overall with a time of 9:03.60
In the high jump, Babcock competed and placed fifth overall with a jump of 1.90 meters.
Freshmen
Eric Grimm,
Jase Babcock,
Devin Easter and sophomore Landon Marquez de la Plata Competed for the Lakers in the 4X100. They placed sixth overall, with a time of 44.06.
In the 100 meters, Easter ran and placed 12
th overall with a time of 11.20. He also competed in the 200 meters, and placed 15
th overall, with a time of 23.54.
In the long jump, freshman
Eric Grimm placed 16
th overall with a jump of 5.75 meters.
In the 800 meters, freshman
Camden Pierce placed 17
th overall with a time of 1:58.65.
Freshman
Daniel Turner competed in the 400 meters. He placed 35
th overall, with a time of 54.80.
Women's
In the 3,000 meters, senior
Bella Homorody placed 18
th overall with a time of 12:35.44.
In the 400 meters, freshmen
Emma Palmieri and
Emma Valerio ran for the Lakers. Palmieri placed 13
th overall with a time of 1:01.85. Valerio placed 29
th overall with a time of 1:08.14.
The Lakers return to the track when they compete at Dave Labor Invitational at Slippery Rock on April 3-4.
