MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst University women's tennis team began the new campaign at the Allegheny Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College on Saturday and Sunday.
Day One
In singles competition,
Daria Rogova,
Celeste Davis and
Ellyana Jacobs each went 2-0 on the day.
Variance Horn-Bourque also picked up a pair of wins, while
Kateryna Kryuchkova and
Astrid White each notched a win.
Mollie Gray and
Biatris Shakratova each split their two matches.
In doubles competition, the team of Horn-Bourque and Davis picked up a win for the Lakers.
Day Two
In singles competition, Rogova, Davis and Jacobs each closed out the weekend unbeaten with a third-straight win apiece, while Kryuchkova also won to finish the tournament 2-0. Gray added another singles win on the day.
In doubles competition, the team of Rogova and Kryuchkova went 2-0 while the pairing of White and Jacobs also picked up a pair of wins. Davis and Horn-Bourque added a win as well.
The Lakers next head to Vestal, N.Y. for the NEC Tournament, Sept. 25-27.
