KENT, Ohio – The Mercyhurst men's ACHA team traveled to the campus of Kent State to take on the Golden Flashes in a Friday night matchup.

Connor Bridges got the nod for the start in net, his 12
th appearance of the season.

In the 1
st period, the first 10 minutes of the frame were spent going back and forth between the competitors. At 10:38, Kent was able to find the back of the net for their first goal of the evening. The Lakers were sent to the box at 12:15 and 16:03, which opened the door for Kent to score a pair of power play goals and bring the score at 3-0 heading into the intermission.

In the 2
nd period, Kent scored another goal at 7:21 despite the Lakers being on the power play beforehand. On their 3
rd power play of the period, the Lakers gave up a shorthanded goal to Kent at 16:22, bringing the score to 4-0.

In the 3
rd period, Kent found the back of the net in an onslaught of goals that culminated in a 9-0 final.

Bridges stopped 30 of his 39 shots faced.

The Lakers will next face off against the Crimson Hawks of IUP at the Mercyhurst Ice Center Saturday. Puck drop set for 7 PM.
