2/1/2026 9:00:00 AM

ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's ACHA team hosted the Robert Morris Colonials at the Mercyhurst Ice Center on Saturday for their final matchup of the season. Saturday also served as the Senior Night celebration for the Lakers.

Senior goaltender Connor Bridges got the start in net for the Hurst.

In the 1st period, the Colonials managed to score 3 goals, with one of them being on the power play and another being shorthanded. Both teams traded penalties throughout the period, but the Lakers were unable to find the back of the net before heading into the intermission down 3-0.

In the 2nd period, neither team was able to score, but each team was sent the penalty box 3 times.

In the 3rd period, junior forward William Neeld scored his 5th goal of the season, assisted by Conner McCusker and Nicholas Botzenhart at 4:11 just after the Laker power play ended. Despite a Robert Morris goal at 10:01, the period was largely quiet until a couple of late penalties for both the Lakers and the Colonials. Freshman goaltender Francesco Scibbarrasi came in for relief of Bridges as a result. The Colonials would find the back of the net at 19:51 to seal the game with a 5-1 final in favor of Robert Morris.

Bridges stopped 21 of 25 shots faced while Scibbarrasi only faced a single shot.

The Lakers will next face off against John Carroll at the Mercyhurst Ice Center Tuesday, February 3. Puck drop set for 8:30 PM.
