STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst men's track and field team continued their season at day one of the NEC Championships Sunday. Five top-15 finishes highlight the day for the Lakers.
In the preliminary round of the 60 meters dash, freshmen
Connor Stokes and
Devin Easter competed for the Lakers. Stokes placed 11
th overall, with a time of 7.04. Easter placed 17
th overall, with a time of 7.15.
The pair continued competition together, competing in the 200 meters dash. Stokes placed 18
th overall, with a time of 22.70. Easter placed 24
th overall, with a time of 22.94.
Freshman
Camden Pierce competed in the one mile run, placing 18
th overall, with a time of 4:31.24. He also competed in the 800 meters dash, placing 23
rd overall, with a time of 2:02.87.
Freshman
Thomas Gaydos participated in two events for the Lakers, the 3000 and 5000 meters. In the 3000 meters, Gaydos placed 13
th overall, with a time of 8:59.16. In the 5000 meters, he placed 14
th overall, with a time of 15:19.36.
Freshman
Jase Babcock competed in the high jump event for Mercyhurst. He placed 13
th overall, clearing 1.86 meters.
Freshman
Zach Noble competed in the pole vault event for the Lakers. He placed 12
th overall, clearing 4.41 meters.
The Lakers return to the track tomorrow to compete at day two of the NEC Championships. Coverage begins at 9:00 a.m.
