GENEVA, Ohio – The Mercyhurst track and field team continued their season with a pitstop at the SPIRE College Indoor Games. Competing in multiple events, the Lakers looked to thrive in competition before heading off for the NEC Championship.
In the one mile run, junior
Kaila Szczygielski placed 14
th overall, with a time of 5:41.14.
In the 5,000 meters, sophomore
Caitlin Dugan placed 20
th overall, with a time of 22:14.22.
In the 60 meters hurdles preliminary round, freshman
Kennedy Butcher placed 30
th overall, with a time of 11.62.
In the 400 meters dash, junior
Kathleen Tarlo placed 36
th overall, with a time of 1:10.19.
In the 800 meters run, Szczygielski and Tarlo competed again for the Lakers. Szczygielski placed 28
th overall, with a time of 2:36.91. Tarlo placed 39
th overall, with a time of 2:45.65.
In the 200 meters dash, Butcher placed 48
th overall, with a time of 30.42.
The Lakers continue their indoor season tomorrow when they travel to Staten Island, N.Y. for the two-day NEC Championship, beginning at 9 a.m.
