YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– The Mercyhurst women's track and tield team continued their season Saturday the YSU Mid Major Invitational.
 
In the field events, freshman Nickayla Petro jumped 9.39 meters in the triple jump, placing 23^rd overall.
 
In the shot put, Petro continued her day with a 15^th overall finish, throwing for 10.78 meters. Freshman Jordyn Barzano threw for 6.75 meters, placing 65^th overall.
 
In the distance and sprint events, freshman Kennedy Butcher competed in the 60 meters preliminary round. She placed 43^rd overall, with a time of 11.36.
 
In the 3,000 meters, senior Bella Homorody raced in the 3,000 meters, finishing with a time of 11:53.76 and placing 49^th overall.
 
In the one mile, freshman Rowan Milliron placed 55^th overall and finished with a time of 5:50.58.
 
Freshman Emma Palmieri competed in the 200 meters, with a time of 27.51 and placed 68^th overall.
 
The Lakers continue their season in two weeks, when they compete at the NEC Championships on February 15-16. It will take place at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y
