YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mercyhurst Track and Field continued their season Friday at day one of YSU Mid Major Invitational with top finishes in distance and field events, highlighted by two top-10 finishes.

In the women's shot put, there were two top-10 finishes for freshmen Nickalya Petro and Jordyn Barzano. In flight one, Barzano threw 6.55 meters to place eighth overall. Petro threw 10.61 meters, placing fifth overall in flight four.
 
Freshman Isabella Hagerman competed in the women's pole vault, jumped 3.17 meters and placing 24^th overall.
 
In the women's 60 meters qualifying round, freshman Emma Palmieri placed 32^nd overall with a time of 8.44. Freshman Emma Valerio had a time of 8.53, placing 37^th overall.
 
In the women's 5000 meters, sophomore Caitlin Dugan had a time of 21:02.43, placing 38^th overall.
 
The Lakers look to continue their season tomorrow when day two of the YSU Mid Major Invitational resumes at 9:30 A.M.
