GENEVA, Ohio – The Mercyhurst Track and Field team continued their season at the SPIRE Midwest Collegiate Invitational, marking the first meet of 2026.
In the pole vault, freshman
Isabella Hagerman placed fifth overall with a distance of 3.30 meters.

Nickayla Petro placed 28
th overall in the Women's shot put, throwing 9.28 meters.
In the 5K meter race, Junior
Molly McIntyre and Freshman
Rowan Milliron both placed top 10. McIntyre placed seventh overall with a time of 18:32.78 and Milliron placed eight 18:45.85. Senior
Bella Homorody placed 15
th overall with a time of 21:08.97.
In the 60 meter hurdles preliminary round, freshman
Kennedy Butcher placed 29
th overall with a time of 11.87.
In the 60 meter dash preliminary round, freshman
Emma Palmieri placed 25
th overall with a time of 8.50. Freshman
Emma Valerio placed 27
th overall with a time of 8.60.
The one mile meter run featured a top-15 finish from junior
Kaila Szczygielski, placing 15
th overall with a time of 5:46.04. Sophomore

In the 400 meter dash, Palmieri placed 15

In the 200 meter dash, the Lakers had three participants in this event. Freshman Palmieri placed 23
rd overall with a time of 27.27. Freshman Valerio placed 49
th overall with a time of 29.08. Freshman Butcher placed 55
th overall with a time of 30.43.
The last event of the day was the 4x400 meter relay. Junior Szczygielski, sophomore Dugan, and freshmen Butcher and Palmieri were the participants for the Lakers. Mercyhurst placed 13
th overall with a time of 4:33.73.
