NORTH EAST, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's golf team concluded play in their first event of the year at their home course, Lake View Country Club, Monday afternoon. The Lakers had three top 15 finishers in the event.

Peter Malo Jr. was the low finisher for Mercyhurst, tying for fifth place. Malo had an excellent final round of 4-under-par 68. Malo's final round was bogey free, making two birdies on the front and two on the back. On the first day of competition, the junior posted scores of 78 and 72 to finish with a three-round total of 218.

Evan Rowane finished in eight place and
John White finished tied for 12
th.

Rowane matched Malo's low round of 68 in round two. The graduate student made six birdies and an eagle to finish Sunday's second round 4 under par. He finished the tournament with scores of 73-68-78/219.

White, who played as an individual, finished the 54-hole event with an eight-over-par 224. White had rounds of 71-73-80. The senior made five birdies on his way to a 1-under 71 in Sunday's first round.

Senior
Darien Swanson finished inside the top 20 with consistent rounds of 75-75-76/226. Swanson made nine birdies in three rounds and an eagle on the par-5 17
th hole.

Freshmen
Barrett Paolini and
Dan Gambone rounded out the lineup for the Lakers. Paolini posted rounds of 75-72-80/227 and Gambone went 78-77-74/229.

The team of Malo, Rowane, Swanson, Paolini, and Gambone finished third behind New Haven and Youngstown State. The team recorded scores of 302-287-295/884.

Matthew Spadacini tied for 17
th with Swanson, posting scores of 76-74-76/226.

Freshman
Enzo Clerici also made his Laker debut, shooting an even-par 72 in round one. He followed that up with rounds of 80 and 81.

Garrett Senfield (81-79-74) and
RJ Delisanti (80-76-78) each tied for 38
th.

Robert Kozlowski rounded out the second team for Mercyhurst, recording rounds of 79-78-80/237.

The team of Spadacini, Senfield, Clerici, Delisanti, and Kozlowski posted rounds of 307-307-308, finishing seventh of nine squads.
