BOSTON, Mass. – Eight Mercyhurst women's hockey players have been named to the 2024-25 American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) list of All-American Scholars.

Sofia Ljung,
Ashley Mandeville,
Megan McKay,
Marielle Parks,
Sydney Pedersen,
Chantal Ste-Croix, and
Mary Sweetapple all earned spots on the list for their outstanding performance on the ice and in the classroom.
To qualify, student-athletes must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester of the 2024-25 academic year, and had to appear in 40% of the team's games in the 2024-25 season. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders.
Ljung has a cumulative GPA of 3.98 while studying biology. The sophomore was a significant contributor to the Laker defense in 2024-25, appearing in 38 contests. Ljung tallied seven assists and finish the season +7, while blocking 48 shots on the year.
Mandeville has earned a 3.845 cumulative GPA in her first year with the Lakers while pursuing her degree in sports business management. Mandeville appeared in 29 games in her freshman season, recording one goal on eight shots.
McKay has garnered a 3.912 cumulative GPA as a junior while studying sports business management and finance. In her junior season, McKay posted career-highs in goals (5), assists (18), and points (23). McKay earned a spot on the All-AHA Second Team for her efforts and was the AHA Defenseman of the Week twice as well as the Defenseman of the Month in January.
Parks accumulated a 3.96 GPA over her four years with the Lakers while majoring in biology and marketing. Parks skated in all 38 games this season, recording eight goals and nine assists. The Erie native was a team best +21 on the year.
Pedersen finished her Mercyhurst career with a 3.89 cumulative GPA as a biology major. The assistant captain tallied 14 points in her senior season while blocking the second most shots (51). Pedersen scored the game-winning goal at Lindenwood Nov. 1.
Ste-Croix earned a 3.99 cumulative GPA as a public health and wellness major. Ste-Croix recorded 12 points (8G-4A) on year and scored two game-winning goals.
Sweetapple earned a 4.0 in both the fall and spring semester of her senior season as a sports med major.The veteran defenseman led Laker blueliners in assists with 14 on the year.
Lind was the eighth Laker to earn a spot on the All-American Scholars list with a 4.0 GPA in biology. The goalie appeared in one game, making nine saves.
